Delete your VedicMarriage account

This page explains how members can request permanent account deletion on VedicMarriage.com, what happens during the grace period, and which data is removed versus retained for legal and tax obligations.

Account deletion is available only after you sign in. Use the steps below, or open Account settings once you are logged in.

Permanent deletion timeline

There is no separate "wipe now" button. Choosing Delete account starts permanent deletion. Personal matrimony data is erased after the grace period; a few legal records are hard-deleted later on a fixed schedule.

  1. Day 0 — Confirm: OTP + exit feedback schedules permanent deletion. Access is locked immediately.
  2. Days 1–14 — Grace: you may restore. If you do nothing, deletion proceeds automatically.
  3. After day 14 — Permanent for you: profile, contacts, live photos, your side of messages/matches, sessions, notifications, and activity data are anonymized or deleted. The account cannot be restored.
  4. Later hard-delete: verification archives (90 days), audit logs (365 days), support records (up to 3 years), and payment/subscription rows (up to 8 years) are purged when their retention ends. Payment contact PII is scrubbed at day 14.

How to request deletion

  1. Sign in to your VedicMarriage account at /login.
  2. Open Account settings (/account/settings).
  3. Choose Delete account in the danger zone.
  4. Confirm with the OTP sent to your registered contact, and submit the short exit feedback form.
  5. Your account enters a 14-day grace period. You can sign in again and restore the account before the deadline.
  6. After the grace period ends, VedicMarriage permanently anonymizes your profile, photos, and related personal data. Sign-in is no longer available for that account.

What happens after you confirm

  • Immediately (T0): sessions are revoked, discovery is hidden, subscriptions stop renewing, and write access to matches and messages is locked.
  • During the 14-day grace: you may restore the account from the pending-deletion screen, or contact support about the deletion request.
  • After grace (T2): profile and contact details are anonymized; photos and verification files are archived then purged on schedule; messages and matches are anonymized on your side while partners keep their own thread context.
  • VedicMarriage aims to complete verified erasure within 30 days of a confirmed deletion request (DPDP industry practice), counting the grace window and nightly processing.
