Smart search that respects your privacy

Describe the kind of partner you hope to meet in your own words — we use responsible AI to suggest compatible profiles, not to turn matrimony into a public name directory. Your identity, contact details, and verification documents are kept out of how search finds people.

Our privacy-first approach to AI search

We built smart search to help serious families find compatibility — with clear limits so privacy comes first.

You cannot be found by name

Legal and display names are not used in smart search. Typing someone's name will not surface their profile — by design, so search cannot be misused for stalking or doxxing.

Phone, email, and ID stay separate

Contact details and government ID are for verification and messaging only. They are never fed into smart search, so strangers cannot discover you through those fields.

Incognito and hide-from-search are honored

If you choose to stay hidden from search or use an incognito discovery posture, you should not appear in AI-powered match search while that choice is active.

Fully private sections stay out of search

When you mark a profile section as fully private, that content is not used to rank you in smart search. Who can see each section in the app still follows your visibility settings when someone views your profile.

Search follows matrimony rules

Results respect who you are allowed to meet — for example opposite gender for your search, your match list when searching within matches, people you have blocked, and location filters when you use them.

Search suggestions ≠ unlimited profile access

Being suggested in search does not mean everyone sees your full profile. Your privacy tiers, discovery settings, and blocks still control what each person can view after a result appears.

How smart search works for you

  1. Step 1

    Your visibility choices apply first

If you are hidden from search, in incognito, or otherwise not discoverable, smart search should not bring you into other members' results.

  2. Step 2

Only marriage-relevant profile text is used

For members who are discoverable, search draws on the parts of your profile that describe compatibility — spiritual practice, lifestyle, career context, and similar — not your name or contact information, and not sections you marked fully private.

  3. Step 3

You search in your own words

You might search for "a devotee in Bangalore who chants daily" — we match that intent to compatible profiles, not to a database of names or phone numbers.

  4. Step 4

You get results within your rules

Suggestions follow matrimony eligibility and your settings. Names and full profile details are shown only through the same privacy and verification rules as the rest of the app — not as a free-for-all lookup.

What smart search is — and is not

  • Smart search helps you discover compatible profiles from how people describe themselves — it is not a tool to look someone up by legal name or phone number.
  • Choosing incognito or hide-from-search means you should stay out of AI-powered search, not just off one screen.
  • What you write in open profile fields (for example About me) may help relevant matches find you; we still never use your account name field for search.
  • AI supports your search — it does not replace family judgment, verification, block, or report when something feels wrong.
  • As we improve search quality, we will not widen what we use for matching unless it meets the same privacy standard.
